Governor Uba Sani has taken a giant step towards actualizing his administration’s modernisation of all sectors of public transportation with the official launch of the Kaduna Bus Rapid Transit (KBRT) System (a 24km corridor from Kawo to Sabon Tasha) and groundbreaking for the construction of the Southern Terminal, an ultra – modern central motor park that will serve as a vital hub for the transportation network on the southern axis of the state.
Governor Uba Sani said at the event that the KBRT, which is the first of its kind in Northern Nigeria and second in Nigeria, marked a significant milestone in his administration’s commitment to enhancing public transportation.
“Today, we took a major step towards revolutionizing the transportation system in Kaduna State as I have performed the official launch of the Kaduna Bus Rapid Transit (KBRT) System (a 24km corridor from Kawo to Sabon Tasha) and groundbreaking for the construction of the Southern Terminal,” he said.
“The KBRT, marks a significant milestone in our commitment to enhancing public transportation, fostering sustainable urban development, and improving the quality of life of our citizens. The Southern Terminal will provide a modern, organized, and safe environment for travelers and commercial activities. By consolidating the various motor parks into the centralized location, we aim to streamline operations, reduce congestion, improve accessibility, enhance safety and security for everyone,” Governor Uba Sani enthused as he performed the launch of the states major transportation project.
“The KBRT and Southern Terminal are the latest initiatives geared towards realizing our administration’s vision for a more connected and efficient transportation system in Kaduna State. Because of the strategic position of Kaduna as a transportation and business hub, I have been in consultation with key stakeholders in the public and private sectors to garner their support and commitments towards the smooth implementation of our masterplan on transportation in Kaduna State,” the Gov further said.
