KDSG, FG Committed to Mass Housing

Kaduna State is in partnership with the Federal Government towards providing shelter to the mass of the people in the state. In fulfillment of that commitment, Kaduna State has allocated 147 hectares of land to the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) for a mass housing project in Kaduna.

Gov Uba Sani has presented a Right of Occupancy (R of O) for the 147 hectares of land to the Managing Director/CEO of Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Hon. Oyetunde Ojo at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, Kaduna.

The MD/CEO, FHA Hon Ojo, at the occasion, commended the Kaduna State Government for the prompt and speedy allocation of land for the construction of affordable mass housing for the less privileged and underserved people in Kaduna State. He said Kaduna State has set the pace for other states to follow in providing affordable housing and would serve as the pilot state in the new phase of the housing project.

He said while presenting the R of O that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu deserved commendation for making the provision of affordable houses for Nigerian citizens one of his topmost priorities. “The focus of Mr. President aligns with the priority of Kaduna State in its effort of addressing the housing deficit in the State.”

“The right to housing is a fundamental human right. Access to safe, affordable, and secure housing is the foundation of human dignity. You cannot enjoy other rights unless you have a roof over your head,” the Gov said.

He thanked the MD/CEO of the FHA for prioritizing Kaduna State and assured him of support and commitment to the speedy execution of the mass housing project. The Gov reiterated the commitment of Kaduna State to forging partnerships with local and international investors in the housing sector.

“We have created a very conducive atmosphere for investment. Our incentives are very attractive,” he stressed on the occasion at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, Kaduna on July 2nd, 2024.
