KADSEMA, NIMASA Foster Collaboration

The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) recently hosted a delegation from the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (KADSEMA) at their Victoria Island office in Lagos. The team was on a mission of fostering collaboration.

Executive Director of Operations Engineer Fatai, representing the Director-General of NIMASA, received Dr. Usman Hayatu Mazadu, the Executive Secretary of KADSEMA, who led the delegation on the collaborative visit.

The meeting also served as an opportunity for the ES KADSEMA to congratulate the DG NIMASA on his appointment by President Tinubu and to cement the established relationship between the two agencies. It also afforded the opportunity to discuss areas of mutual interest and explore potential areas of collaboration between the two agencies.

The discussions focused on how NIMASA and KADSEMA could work together to develop and implement harmonized standards for the mitigation and response to emergencies and disasters in Kaduna State. The collaboration would include areas such as assistance to victims of dissaster and hazzard, early warning systems, and disaster prevention.

Both agencies expressed a commitment to develop and significantly improve emergency response in Kaduna State for the wellbeing of all in the state.
