Kaduna State Commissioner for Education, Prof. Muhammad Sani Bello has expressed appreciation to the World Bank for their immense efforts in supporting various developmental initiatives, which have contributed to national development, especially in the education sector.

He stated this while receiving a delegation of the World Bank and the National Project Coordinating Unit (NPCU) of the AGILE project, who were on an Infrastructure Inspection Mission in the state to check the progress of work done on the construction of climate-smart infrastructure to support an increase in adolescent secondary school girls’ enrollment, especially in rural communities.

The Commissioner, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Halliru Musa, thanked the World Bank for their interventions in the state and the Kaduna State AGILE Project Implementation Unit for their commitment and dedication to ensuring the best quality of work in the constructions and renovations, as well as ensuring a balance in meeting all expectations of the World Bank, the Federal Ministry of Education, and the Kaduna State Government.

“That is why you see people coming to the Ministry requesting that they want schools to be constructed in their communities, but not by the state government. They want theirs to be done under the AGILE project because of the quality of the work of the project. So, I really want to thank the SPIU for the good job and encourage them to keep it up,” he said.

On observations made on various projects during the inspection visits to some selected schools in the state, the Commissioner assured the delegation that the SPIU will work on all. He requested the World Bank to consider providing all the schools constructed by the AGILE project with fire extinguishers.

Earlier, the leader of the visiting team, Mr. Koffi of the NPCU, commended the Kaduna State AGILE Project for the beautiful and good-quality construction and renovation work being done in the state and expressed satisfaction with what the team saw in the schools visited.

The representative of the World Bank, Mr. Abdulmalik, commended the Kaduna State PIU for their efforts and spirit of teamwork, which has been the driving force behind what the state was achieving in the project, rating Kaduna AGILE as the best so far among the implementing states visited.
