Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has inaugurated Nigeria’s first-ever Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and Liquefied Compressed Natural Gas (LCNG) facility with a daily capacity of 20,000 tonnes for distribution across the country.

Inaugurating the LCNG facility located in the Kakau area along the highway, the Governor, who was represented by the State Commissioner of Public Works and Infrastructure, Ibrahim Hamza, expressed delight at being part of the historic event. He noted that the gas facility would significantly help reduce socio-economic hardships caused by fuel price hikes and currency fluctuations in the global market.

The project, spearheaded by Greenville LNG, has a 20,000 metric tonnes capacity and will be distributed across the country from Kaduna as the pivotal station with 25 hubs.

Earlier, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Greenville LNG, Mr. Eddy Van Den Broeke, highlighted that the company’s mission extended beyond addressing fuel shortages. He stated that it also encompasses contributing to a greener and more sustainable Nigeria.

“As we inaugurate this Kakau station, we also unlock investment opportunities for local businesses in Kaduna State’s industrial and automotive gas sectors,” he added.
